ASDD Flange Configuration — How It Differs from Inline and Flange
The flange configuration mounts permanently to a panel, bulkhead, or chassis member using the integrated mounting flange — creating a fixed, chassis-anchored connector point. The cable harness plugs into the flange-mount half from the wiring loom side, making the flange connector the standard choice for firewall bulkhead connectors, chassis separation points, and any location where one connector half must be permanently fixed to the vehicle structure.
Contact Type — Socket (Female)
This is the socket (socket) half of the 41-way ASDD pair. It mates with the corresponding pin half of the same circuit count and key colour. Both contact halves are required to form a complete mated connector pair. ASDD contacts are ordered separately — select the appropriate contact part number for your wire gauge.
Blue Key (B) — Mis-Mate Protection
The second keying position in the asdd system — the blue b insert ensures the second connector of the same circuit count on a harness cannot be cross-mated with the yellow a or any other keyed variant during installation or servicing. The blue keying insert physically prevents mating with any other ASDD 41-way connector of a different key — critical for harnesses where multiple same-size connectors are used in close proximity.
