The MS27511F18R is an MS27511F series protective cap for mil-spec circular connectors with a size 18 shell, providing environmental and mechanical protection for the connector mating face and contact faces when the connector is unmated during storage, transport, or service. The retaining lanyard connects the cap to the connector shell or adjacent harness so the cap cannot be lost or misplaced when the connector is unmated during service. This is particularly useful during pit lane servicing or trackside harness work where a dropped cap could be lost or cause a foreign object hazard.
