Flip-Up Switch Guard Cover — Red — Motorsport Panel Switch Protection

The 15-530 is a red flip-up protective guard cover for motorsport switch panel switches. Flip-up guards mount over toggle or rocker switches and must be lifted before the switch can be operated, providing a physical barrier against inadvertent activation of the protected circuit. The red colour is used for the most critical and high-priority circuit protection — fire suppression switches, ignition kill switches, and any panel function where a red guard provides the strongest visual indicator of a safety-critical switch.

Why Flip-Up Switch Guards Are Used in Motorsport

Race car cockpits experience high vibration, driver arm and hand movements under G-load, and rapid switch panel operation under race pressure — all of which can cause inadvertent contact with unguarded switches. For circuits where unintended activation has safety consequences (fire suppression, fuel shutoff, ignition kill) or significant performance implications (launch control, boost override, NOS), a flip-up guard prevents the circuit from being activated accidentally by incidental contact. The guard must be deliberately lifted before the switch can be operated, adding a conscious two-step activation requirement that eliminates accidental activation while still allowing rapid intentional use by the driver when needed.
