The 19-522 is a blue rubber switch boot for 15/32-inch thread toggle switches, used to seal the toggle switch actuator shaft against moisture, water spray, and contamination ingress in motorsport switch panels. Switch boots are used for auxiliary circuit toggle switch body sealing where blue colour maintains the switch panel colour coding system.

Why Switch Boots Are Used in Motorsport

Unsealed toggle switch panels are vulnerable to moisture ingress through the switch actuator shaft opening, which allows water, cleaning fluid, and fuel vapour to reach the switch contact mechanism. In motorsport vehicles operated in wet conditions, subjected to pressure washing, or stored in damp environments, moisture at the switch contact causes corrosion that produces intermittent switch operation — an unreliable switch on a critical circuit is a significant reliability risk during competition. The switch boot forms a flexible seal around the actuator shaft that moves with the switch lever during operation while excluding moisture from the housing interior.
