ASDD Plug Configuration — How It Differs from Inline and Flange
The plug configuration is a cable-mounted free connector half — it does not mount to a panel or chassis surface. The plug mates with a fixed inline or flange-mount receptacle half, creating a separable join where the plug side can be freely disconnected from the vehicle harness for removal.
Contact Type — Pin (Male)
This is the pin (pin) half of the 41-way ASDD pair. It mates with the corresponding socket half of the same circuit count and key colour. Both contact halves are required to form a complete mated connector pair. ASDD contacts are ordered separately — select the appropriate contact part number for your wire gauge.
Blue Key (B) — Mis-Mate Protection
The second keying position in the asdd system — the blue b insert ensures the second connector of the same circuit count on a harness cannot be cross-mated with the yellow a or any other keyed variant during installation or servicing.
