Molex Versakrimp Parallel Splice 12–10 GA — Motorsport Wire Crimp Splice Connector
The Molex Versakrimp Parallel Splice 12–10 GA (19205-0003) is a pre-insulated crimp splice connector for joining or branching 12–10 GA wire circuits in motorsport wiring harnesses. With a conductor cross-section range of approximately 3.31–5.26 mm², this splice is designed for fuel pump primary feeds, high-current relay outputs, fan motor supply wiring, and PDM primary output rails. The Versakrimp design produces a gas-tight, mechanically secure crimp joint when used with the correct crimp tool and die, providing the reliability expected in a race car wiring harness.
Why Use Crimp Splices in Motorsport
A correctly executed crimp deforms the connector barrel around both wire conductors to create a cold-welded gas-tight joint that resists vibration fatigue, oxidation, and resistance increase over time. Soldered joints are susceptible to vibration cracking at the solder-conductor boundary — a known motorsport failure mode that makes crimp splices the professional standard for harness construction and repair.
12–10 GA Gauge — Application Detail
12–10 GA covers high-current motorsport circuit feeds. Splices in this range are used for joining or extending fuel pump supply wires, high-draw fan motor circuits, and PDM output rails where a secure vibration-resistant crimp joint is required in the primary distribution wiring.
Correct Tooling
Versakrimp parallel splices require a ratchet crimp tool with the appropriate die for the wire gauge range. An undersized or oversized die produces an improperly formed crimp that may pass visual inspection but fail under vibration or load. Arctic Performance Parts can advise on the correct Molex crimp tool specification for each gauge range.
