Deutsch DT 6-Way Receptacle Protective Cover – Sealing Cap for Unmated Connectors
The Deutsch DT 6-way receptacle protective cover is a moulded sealing cap designed to protect the mating face and internal cavity seals of DT Series receptacle connectors during transport, storage, and harness assembly. This protective dust cover keeps the precision seal surfaces clean and undamaged until the connector is ready to be mated in the final harness installation.
Connector Protection During Assembly and Storage
Professional harness builders stock protective covers as standard consumables for all Deutsch connector work. Between receiving connector stock and completing a harness build, connectors can sit open in a workshop environment for days or weeks. Protective caps prevent foreign material entry that could compromise the IP67 sealing performance of the finished connection. They are also used on installed but temporarily unmated connectors during vehicle assembly and testing phases.
