P7 Red Momentary Push Button (N.O./N.C.) — Motorsport Panel Switch
The P7-SW-ADAPTER-RD is a P7 series red momentary push button switch with both normally-open (N.O.) and normally-closed (N.C.) contacts, for motorsport switch panel construction. The dual-contact P7 provides more versatility than a simple N.O. push button: the N.O. contact activates when pressed (standard momentary function), while the N.C. contact opens when pressed (used for fail-safe and interlock circuits where the default state is active). The red actuator colour is suited to ignition kill, fire suppression arming, fuel cutoff, and high-priority safety system activation where the red colour immediately identifies the switch function to the driver and marshals.
P7 Series — Dual N.O./N.C. Contacts
The P7 series is the advanced motorsport panel push button, adding a normally-closed output to the standard N.O. momentary button functionality. The N.C. contact allows the P7 to be used for interlock functions — for example, a launch control system that is enabled by default (N.C. = closed) and momentarily disabled when the button is pressed (N.C. opens), or a warning system that is silenced momentarily by pressing the button. This dual-contact architecture allows a single P7 switch to replace two separate switches in complex motorsport control logic.
N.O. and N.C. — Which Contact for Which Circuit
Use the N.O. contact for functions that are inactive by default and activated by pressing the button (push-to-pass, starter, horn, timed activation). Use the N.C. contact for functions that are active by default and momentarily interrupted by pressing the button (interlock bypass, warning silence, fail-safe system interrupt). The P7 provides access to both from a single switch body, simplifying complex motorsport switch panel layouts.
