Off-On Single Pole Illuminated Rocker Switch (14-575) — Motorsport Switch Panel Rocker Switch

The 14-575 is a single-pole, single-throw illuminated rocker switch with OFF-ON action, designed for motorsport and performance vehicle switch panel construction. The integrated illumination provides switch status indication — confirming at a glance whether the circuit is active — which is valuable in race cars where audible feedback is limited and the driver must quickly verify system states during competition. This switch is suited to fuel pump enable, fan override, map light control, auxiliary circuit switching, and any panel function where a lit indicator confirming the active state improves driver situational awareness.

Rocker Switches in Motorsport Switch Panels

Rocker switches are widely used in motorsport switch panel construction alongside toggle switches, providing a larger actuation surface that is easier to operate with gloved hands in a vibrating cockpit environment. The rocker format is preferred for auxiliary circuit control, lighting systems, and non-critical circuit switching where the larger actuator footprint suits the panel layout. For critical safety circuits and functions requiring tactile confirmation of state change, mil-spec sealed toggle switches are typically used instead.

Illuminated Function

Illuminated rocker switches integrate a lamp or LED behind the actuator that lights when the circuit is active, providing a clear visual status indicator without requiring a separate indicator lamp on the panel. This simplifies panel wiring and reduces the component count in the switch panel assembly.

Motorsport Switch Panel Wiring

Rocker switches are wired with the common terminal connected to the circuit supply (via a fuse appropriate to the circuit load) and the output terminal(s) connected to the load or relay coil. For panel illumination circuits, a common dimmer circuit can supply all switch illumination feeds from a single source, allowing the entire panel to be dimmed together for night racing or endurance events. 20–22 AWG TXL or Tefzel wire is appropriate for rocker switch panel wiring circuits.

Available from Arctic Performance Parts

Arctic Performance Parts stocks 14-series rocker switches in illuminated and non-illuminated variants, and separate replacement actuators, to support motorsport switch panel builds across Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Lead time 1–2 weeks for quantities beyond current stock.
