Shrinkable Fabric — The Professional Harness Finish

Standard expandable braided sleeving is pulled onto a harness and held at each end. Shrinkable fabric tubing is instead slid over the harness in its expanded state and then heated to shrink tightly around the bundle — producing a firm, close-fitting textile sleeve that does not shift, sag, or need taping at entry points. HFT5000 Material and Performance

The HFT5000 fabric construction provides abrasion resistance, flexibility at low temperatures, and resistance to fluids including fuel, oil, and coolant — making it suitable for motorsport harness runs that pass through engine bays, footwells, and chassis areas where these exposures are unavoidable. The fabric wall is significantly more flexible than rigid heat-shrink tubing of similar wall thickness, allowing the finished harness to articulate at bends and branch points without the sleeve cracking or stiffening the harness excessively.

Select the HFT5000 size that, in its expanded state, can be slid over the harness bundle or hose assembly OD, and that, in its recovered state, produces a tight-fitting sleeve around the bundle. The 30mm expanded diameter accommodates bundles up to approximately 30mm OD for installation, shrinking to a firm fit at approximately 15mm recovered. This large-diameter size is designed for main harness trunks and substantial consolidated loom assemblies.
