60 Amp Rating — High-Current Motorsport Applications
Standard motorsport push button switches are rated for low-to-medium current panel circuits (typically 10–20 amps). The 15-100 at 60 amps is designed for circuits that would damage or destroy a standard switch — battery master switches where the full vehicle load passes through the switch, starter motor circuits with very high inrush current demand, and primary distribution switching where multiple circuits are controlled through a single high-current switch point. Using a correctly-rated switch for high-current applications is essential: an undersized switch in a high-current circuit will overheat, causing insulation damage and eventual contact weld failure.
