Deutsch Autosport AS 55-Way Flange — Socket (Female) — Red Key (N)

The Deutsch Autosport AS 55-Way Flange Socket (Female) Connector with Red (N) Keying Insert — SKU: AS016-35SN is a professional MIL-spec-grade Deutsch Autosport AS series connector for high-density full ECU main harness interfaces, complete PDM system separable joins, and complex race car loom separation points in race cars and high-performance vehicles across Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Configured as a panel-mounted flange connector that bolts permanently to a chassis panel, bulkhead, or firewall — the fixed, chassis-anchored half that the cable-side plug mates into.

Deutsch Autosport AS 55-Way — 55-circuit Circuit Configuration

The Deutsch Autosport AS series is the professional standard circular connector format for motorsport wiring — aluminium alloy shell, gold-plated contacts, positive push-pull locking, and full MIL-spec environmental sealing for race-condition reliability. The 55-circuit configuration is used for ECU main harness interfaces and complete PDM wiring system separable joins where the entire ECU pin count and a large portion of PDM outputs must cross a single connector in professional motorsport builds throughout Scandinavia. Very high-density 55-circuit shell — for full ecu main harness and complete pdm system separable joins.

Socket (Female) — 55-Circuit Contact Array

This is the socket half of the 55-way AS flange pair. Fifty-five socket contacts receive fifty-five individual pin contacts — the receptacle half completing the full ECU main harness and PDM system circuit array. The corresponding pin half of the same circuit count and key colour completes the mated pair — both halves are required. AS contacts are ordered separately; select the correct contact part number for your wire gauge and current requirements.

Red Key (N) — Keying Position and Mis-Mate Prevention

Red N is the neutral (non-keyed) specification — the correct choice when only a single 55-circuit AS flange is used at this separation point and no adjacent same-size connector creates a mis-mate risk. An N-keyed half mates with any other N-keyed half of the same circuit count, keeping the connector specification simple and straightforward for single-pair 55-circuit AS applications. Red N is also commonly used on initial harness prototype builds before the final keying strategy is confirmed, on harnesses where each AS connector is a unique circuit count (eliminating any possibility of mis-mating by design), and on any motorsport harness build in Norway, Sweden, or Denmark where keyed mis-mate prevention between same-circuit-count connectors is not required at this particular separation point.

Flange Configuration — Panel-Mounted Fixed Connector Point

The AS flange connector mounts permanently to a chassis panel, bulkhead, or firewall using the integrated mounting flange holes — creating a fixed 55-circuit connector point anchored to the vehicle structure. Once bolted in position, the flange remains in place throughout the vehicle’s service life while the matching plug half is mated and unmated repeatedly for component installation, removal, and servicing without disturbing the chassis-side connection.

The 55-circuit AS flange is used for high-density full ECU main harness interfaces, complete PDM system separable joins, and complex race car loom separation points across race cars and performance vehicles in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Flange connectors are the standard specification at firewall primary harness separation points, engine bay bulkhead connectors, chassis rail panel interfaces, and any harness separation point that aligns with a structural surface suitable for mounting. The fixed flange provides a permanent, precisely-located connector point that makes harness re-mating fast and repeatable at every race event service interval.
