The SSB-26-RAW is a Superseal 1.0 26-way backshell in raw aluminium raw aluminium, designed for MoTec M1 and other professional motorsport ECUs using the 26-way Superseal 1.0 connector format. Backshell vs Boot — What Is the Difference?
Both backshells and boots cover the rear cable entry of a Superseal 1.0 connector. Boots (the SSB series) are polymer components that provide basic strain relief and environmental sealing in a lightweight, cost-effective format. Backshells are typically heavier, more rigid, and in machined aluminium variants can be anodised in various colours for premium harness aesthetics. Aluminium backshells also provide additional mechanical protection for the connector rear against impact in the engine bay, and the anodised colour variants allow the ECU connector to be colour-coded to match a vehicle livery or to identify connector function in a multi-connector installation at a glance.
