Delphi GT150 2-Way TPA Lock — Terminal Position Assurance Component

The 15305024 is a Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) lock for 2-way Delphi GT150 connector housings. The TPA lock is a secondary retention component that inserts into the rear of the GT150 connector housing after all contacts are installed, providing a mechanical barrier that prevents contacts from backing out of their cavities under cable tension or vibration. The TPA lock is inserted through the secondary TPA slot in the housing after all contacts are confirmed as fully seated, where it simultaneously locks all contacts in position and provides a visual verification that contacts are correctly seated (the TPA cannot be fully inserted if a contact is not fully home in its cavity).

TPA as a Quality Assurance Tool

The Terminal Position Assurance lock serves a dual function in professional connector assembly: it provides secondary mechanical retention for the contacts, and it acts as a go/no-go gauge for contact seating depth. If the TPA cannot be fully inserted to its locked position, at least one contact in the connector is not fully seated — the TPA alerts the assembler to this condition before the connector is installed in the vehicle, rather than failing in service. This is particularly valuable when assembling high-density connectors where visual inspection of each contact from the wire entry side is difficult.
